A visit to Saint Bonaventure Church, Detroit.
Also the final resting place of Father Solanus.
A very special unexpected Birthday Blessing from Brother Richard.
I was caught off-guard when I received a blessing with this relic that belonged to Father Solanus since the early 1900's until his death in 1957. I am still in awe that I was permitted to hold it and also take a picture. This still takes my breath away and I am sure always will.
It is hard to put into words how blessed I feel.
Recently I had done some research on the hospital where I was born, Grace Hospital. The hospital was demolished in 1979. After leaving the Monastery, I drove to the area.
As I was taking pictures of the sign, I looked at the time. It was two hours short of the time I was born on Mothers's Day 1948 at 4:43 p.m.
As the day was ending we celebrated our first bonfire of the season.
We had chips, wine and Sander's birthday cake.
A perfect end to a lovely birthday.
