The weather was typical Michigan.... one extreme after another. Cool. Rainy. Hot. Humid. Rainy. Dry. Hot. Humid.
Last night the rain returned and this morning it's cooler and gloomy. Cooler days are in the forecast for the coming week.
It's been a nice summer for me because it is my first summer not working since I was in high school.
I've enjoyed my garden more. Frequent trips to the library. Spending much more time with my kids and grandkids A wedding trip to California. Short day trips. Hanging out with friends.
I feel like I've had a summer instead of how it was when I was working when life evolved around my job. Now my days are more relaxed and carefree. I like it.
Autumn is approaching which is a happy for me. But I also get melancholy...because I will miss my flowers.
I'm still looking forward to sitting outside, enjoying the remaining summer days. Morning coffee on the porch, reading, watering my annuals, and embracing these last days of summer which will gingerly blend into the days when the leaves will begin trickling down, blanketing the green lawns with golden colors. One season comes to an end and another one begins. Pure Michigan.
